Description
Size: 134 mm.

Color: Blackish green above, pink below. Two to four black stripes radiate on cheek from eye. Rays of dorsal fins and caudal fin spotted, membrane violet. Ventral fin anteriorly with red margin. Anal fin with red margin. Caudal fin above at the base with red spot.

Body elongate, anteriorly cylindrical, posteriorly compressed, height 5 in length, 6 in total length. Head a little depressed, 3 1/2 - 3 3/4 in length, 4 1/2 in total length. Profile between the eyes a little concave. Eye 8 in head, interorbital 3 eye diameters. Snout rounded, less than 2 eye diameters, tip before upper part of eye. Anterior nostril tubular. Maxillary extends to below posterior part of eye. Teeth in several rows. In upper jaw outer row with 4-6 canines, inner row behind symphysis with a curved canine, in the type very weak. In lower jaw outer row with 4 canines. Four mucous canals radiate under eye, crossed by 2 longitudinal canals on cheek. Above eye some short radiating canals, on each side from snout to interorbital a longitudinal canal. On lower side of head many short transverse canals along ramus of lower jaw. On chin on each side a longitudinal canal. Some (about 3) open pores on each side in interorbital round the eye. Head scaled, except on snout. Scales cycloid. First dorsal fin low, height less than half of height of body, third and fourth rays are the longest. Second dorsal and anal fin higher than body, pointed posteriorly. Pectoral fin as long as postorbital part of head. Ventral fin a little shorter. Caudal fin obtuse, 2/3 of head.
