Description
Color: Dark green, becoming blackish when dried.

Plants tufted, up to 20 cm tall, coarse and stiff; main filaments to 300-475 µ diameter. The cells to 20 diameter long, copiously di-trichotomously branched, the branches rather erect, clustered toward the tips; branchlets 120-200 µ diameter, cells 4-6 diameters long, the tip cells blunt. Branches from base di-or trichotomous.
