Description
Plants large, to 4 dm, long 3 dm or more across, very soft, gelatinous, pinnately to subdichotomously branched, the major divisions usually marginally beset with slender linear branchlets. Width of main divisions usually 5-20 mm, occasionally to 35 mm, but often very slender and the branchlets abundant, producing a very bushy plant in contrast to individuals with broad main divisions and few branchlets. Tetrasporangia scattered, immersed in the cortex 25-30 ยต long.
