Description
Color: Purplish or dark greenish or yellowish brown.

Thalli cartilaginous in substance, cylindrical, 2-5 cm long, 2-3 mm wide. Branches irregular and divaricate, 3-4 times, markedly constricted in articulations on the upper portion of the frond when mature. Few gland-like cells embedded in the cortex, generally ovoid. Tetrasporangia numerous, ovate, cruiciate divided. Spermatangial pattern pocket-like.
