Description
Plants bushy, cartilaginous, 3-50 cm tall, with prominent main axes. Branches 1-3 degrees pinnate, cystocarpic plants being somewhat more consistently twice pinnate. The segments 0.5-2.0 mm broad, thick but flattened, the terminal divisions somewhat constricted at the base but with a broadly rounded apex. In sections the axes showing rhizomes chiefly in the outer portions.
