Size: Height up to 40 cm or more.

Plants attached to the substratum by means of a thick basal disc. Primary axes of the plants 2-2.5 cm long, giving rise to branches 30 cm in length. Stem flat, 2-3 mm broad at the base becoming narrower above. Primary branches beset with 5-8 cm long branchelets, possessing filiform axes, less than 1 mm broad. Leaves of the lower portion larger than those of the upper, the former 2.5-3 cm long and 3 mm broad, the latter 1-2 cm long and 1-2 mm broad. Leaves linear-lanceolate, margins entire, midrib inconspicuous cryptostomata few; younger leaves ovate or elliptical. Vesicles numerous , occurring together, 2-3 mm broad, stalked, apiculate, provided with prominent cryptostomata.

Receptacles forming branched racemes along with the vesicles, axillary, cylindrical, oblong or cuneate in shape, 2 mm long.
