Description
Primary stem short, muriculate, closely branched, the very slender terete leading branches spreading, to 3 dm long or more, alternately divided to about 3 degrees, throughout abundantly beset with terete truncate cylindrical foliar projections 0.5-1.0 mm long. Vesicles usually solitary, one in a chain of two, on short spinulose stalks, ellipsoidal, to about 2 mm diameter, 3 mm long each terminated by a short spinulose projection. Receptacles slender, clavate-cylindrical, 2-9 mm long, bearing scattered acute spines.
