Description
Size: 1.5 cm high

Color: Green

Thallus form and type: Spongy, branched cushion

Substratum: Intertidal rocks, coastline stones

Occurrence: Mid littoral zone and infra littoral fringe

Season: November-April

Plants soft loose net like masses consisting of intertwined filaments; stipe small, multicellular, uniseriate, primary axis uniseriate, each cell produces branches, cells upto 20 times as long as broad. Secondary filaments richly branched, irregularly extend towards all directions, paired, opposite; ultimate branches single, main filament curved; cells of primary filaments 160-350 μm diameter, cells of secondary filament 105-200 μm broad, 245-420 μm long, towards the tip 70-140 μm broad, 210-385 μm long, end cells of the branches connected to adjacent filaments by tenacula.
