Description
Color: Red to greenish; purplish brown

Bushy plant, 5-20 cm in height, brittle, easily broken when fresh, subcartilaginous on drying, caespitose, erect. Attached to the substratum by means of small disc shaped hold fast; branches spirally arranged along the main axes; branchlets spinous, arranged alternately or spirally on the branches. Tetrasporangia borne by spinous ramuli, tetrahedrally divided.
