Description
Color: Pale straw colored or light brownish purple

Thallus soft, sparsely bushy; Plants bushy, 10-20 cm tall, the main axis erect, 1.0-1.5 mm diameter with several long similar branches, the habit of each broadly pyramidal. Branchlets single or clustered, club-shaped, contracted at the base, obtuse and finally retuse at the apex, with a central apiculus bearing a particularly conspicuous tuft of trichoblasts, the older branchlets generally of uneven, somewhat tortulose contour, length 2-3(-10) mm, 200-500 ยต diameter. Tetrasporangia formed in the distal portion of the fertile branchlets. Spermatangial clusters flat, transversely oval, developed from a portion of a normal trichoblast. Pericarps lateral on the branchlets, with a very short stalk, single or 2-3 on one branchlet. holdfast small, disc-like.
