Size: Length 9-20 mm by 2.5 mm

Body divided into two clearly distinct regions, 25-32 segments. Prostomium broad with two pairs of antennae, one long and one short. 3rd pair of tentacular cirri reduced to a small conical process inserted on the base of the second pair. The first two setigerous segments resemble each other; they are much larger than the succeeding ones, point forwards and are armed with stout sigmoid sharp brown hooks. Both are destitute of ventral cirri, but have a collar.
