Size: 14 cm.

Color: Left side grayish-green, body and fins with numerous oblong brown spots.

Elongate. Height 3.5, about 4 in length with caudal, head 4.5, 5 in length with caudal. Eyes subcontiguous, about 7, the superior somewhat in advance of the inferior one, which is situated above corner of mouth. On colored side the anterior nostril is tubular and situated near upper lip, the posterior one is an opening immediately in front of interorbital space. Corner of mouth nearer to end of snout than to branchial opening. Hook of upper jaw not quite reaching to below eye. Scales ctenoid on both sides. Three lateral lines on left side, one on right side. Seven to nine scales between upper and middle lateral line.
