Description
Color: Shell is of deep chestnut brown color with three broad white bands.

Shell thick, elongated with a fairly regular margin which is evenly rounded, in-equilateral, the umbo being situated very close to the anterior margin; ventral margin almost straight but occasionally bears a very broad, slight, concave indentation; anterior and posterior margins of the hinge are bluntly rounded. Surface of the shell bears a somewhat fine sculpture consisting of fine, close-set, radiating ribs; strong radial ribs towards the anterior and posterior extremities. the entire surface is also traversed by fine, concentric grooves which decussate with the radial ribs. Umbo raised slightly above the hinge; ligamentary area is very narrow, elongated and slopes steeply inwards.
