Description
Max. size: 120 cm TL

Max. published weight: 6,000 g

Color: Dorsal side of the body brownish, belly yellowish. Fins yellowish mottled with brown.

Body snake like, cylindrical anteriorly, with minute embedded scales. Mouth slightly oblique, extending beyond the eyes. Teeth small, conical, in cardiform bands in jaws and vomer; teeth in lower jaw divided by a longitudinal groove. Dorsal fin originating about midway between gill-openings and anal fin origin. Pectoral fins well developed. Lateral line distinct. Dorsal soft rays (total): 250-305, Anal soft rays: 220-250, Vertebrae: 106-112.
