Size: Carapace length 36-42 cm; carapace breadth 47-57 cm

Color: The carapace is dark greenish with the appendages slightly lighter. The fingers are light green to yellowish

The carapace is roundly fan-shaped and slightly convex. The carapace and chelipeds are devoid of hairs and the chelipeds are somewhat asymmetrical with the left cheliped being larger than the right. The merus of the cheliped is finely granulated and serrated along the dorsal margin. The anterior margin of the carpus and anterior and posterior margins of the propodus and dactylus are thickly covered with setae. In males, the first pleopod is stubby, slightly curved laterally, its apex tapering and armed with spines on the inner side.
