Description
Four anterolateral tooth present. Third anterolateral tooth as large as second. Five spines on hand of cheliped, including that at wrist articulation.

Carapace sparsely covered with long fine hairs. Three usual pairs of gastric ridges, also epibranchial which is uninterrupted at cervical grooves. Front four lobed, medians much broader than laterals, slightly sinuous. Inner orbital lobes short and arched. Basal antennal joint shorter than orbit (c.0.86 times), bearing short, sharply elevated ridge, tipped by fused granules. Chelipeds subequal and granular, with long fine hairs between granular regions. Anterior border of arm, wrist and upper surface of hand with usual spines, all acute and well developed. The 2 lowermost carinae on outer surface of hand present and conspicuously granulated. Merus of the fifth leg usually long, bearing usual spine. Five or six long spines on posterior border of propodus.

The species looks like Thalamita invicta. The only character now separating them is the presence of 5 spines on the hand (including that at the wrist articulation in Thalamita cooperi as against 3 in Thalamita invicta.
